First note, I went to collect some water samples this evening for Chemistry lab and heard 2 Great-horned Owls and 2 Eastern Screech-Owls calling.
I went hawk watching for the second time since I started birding on October 15th. We thought conditions would be good for migration. The wind was decent at the start of the afternoon when we got there around 3:30 pm. Around 4:00 pm the wind picked up and pushed the birds on the back side of the ridge. We did manage to see Sharp-shinned Hawks, Red-tailed Hawks, Turkey Vultures, and Black Vultures. Below are a few photos I managed to take.
