Spring? Who would ever think it would be right around the corner...

For about two weeks now, I have been hearing birds singing. The most common is Tufted Titmouse, but I have also heard Northern Cardinals on Penn State's campus. Maybe Punxsutawney Phil was correct in that spring is just around the corner? I hope so. This just means lakes will thaw and waterfowl will start migrating through. Sparrow numbers will begin to rise soon as well. In late April and early May, warblers will come back just in time for me to leave for Arizona. So whether or not Phil was right, we can only hope for spring to come quickly so we can hear the wonderful voices of these critters sooner rather than later!
